Conquistador’s Rescue: A Tale of Bravery and Hope in the Santa Ana River

In a remarkable rescue operation, a horse named Conquistador was saved after being stranded in California’s Santa Ana River for nearly 24 hours.

The incident occurred when Conquistador was spooked during a ride and ran off, leading to his entrapment in the river. Exhausted and unable to move, he awaited help.

Rescue teams from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office collaborated to airlift Conquistador to safety. The successful operation not only saved his life but also highlighted the dedication and bravery of the rescuers involved.
